My career is a balanced mix of technical excellence and exceptional people leadership. In the realm of BI and data engineering, I’ve designed and developed impactful solutions utilizing Power BI, AWS Glue, S3, Athena, and SQL environments such as Microsoft APS and AWS Redshift. At Capitec, I played a key role in delivering solutions for critical projects like Live Better and Capitec Connect, while also pioneering initiatives like “Coffee Topics” and “Mid-Sprint Motivations” to foster collaboration and innovation. I established and led Communities of Practice for Front-End Engineering and Data Facilitators, driving knowledge-sharing and engagement across teams. Additionally, I contributed to strategic initiatives like redefining job roles for market alignment and bridging corporate and branch staff through shadowing programs.

As a data engineer at JOBJACK, I spearheaded the transition from Digital Ocean to AWS, designing a robust data architecture that included a data lake, a data warehouse, and governance frameworks. I validated reporting measures, redefined dimensional models, and implemented Power BI governance and deployment pipelines, creating scalable, template-driven reporting systems. Beyond technical delivery, I provided a comprehensive data strategy and future roadmap for JOBJACK’s data team, ensuring alignment with business goals while mentoring team members in agile methodologies and technical best practices.
