Nollie Maoto is a Chief Data and Analytics Officer within First National Bank, which is one of the biggest four banks in South Africa and looks after Business Intelligence, Data Management, Data Science and Analytics and Pricing within her Merchant Services business unit. She also has a significant profile and responsibilities within the Data and Analytics community in South Africa, Africa and internationally. Amongst her many achievements.

Nollie has been recognized for her leadership and mentorship role of women in general and women in data and analytics across the African continent.

Nollie is a multi-award winning Chief Data and Analytics Officer and some of her accolades include being named Inspirational Leader of the Year 2023, Financial Women Trailblazer of the Year 2023, has been named in the Global Data Power Women list for 2023 and 2022 and the Global Top 100 Data & Analytics Leaders for 2022 and has been named in the World’s Leading Enterprise Data Leader for 2022 and also the Top 100 Most Influential African Leaders in Tech & Telecoms for 2023 and is also the InspiringFifty Top 50 Africa Award recipient for 2023 to name a few.

Nollie also runs a female only formal mentorship program under her Impactful Leadership Non-Profit Company and has won numerous awards for displaying unparalleled leadership values and advocating for gender equality including becoming 2nd overall winner in the 11th Accenture Gender Mainstreaming Awards 2023 for the Professional Services Sector.

She is a CDO Magazine Editorial Board Member, an internationally recognized American tech magazine and is the CDO Ambassador for South Africa. Nollie is a BAI Global Innovation Awards Circle Judge for 2022 and 2023. She also sits on the Africa Tech / Africa Com Leadership Council and on the Banking Transformation Africa Advisory Board. Nollie has previously been invited by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa to be a contributor to the UN’s Global Digital Compact and in particular, to be a part of the Regulations for New Emerging Technologies such as AI Working Group.

Nollie is a sought-after speaker within the Data and Analytics industry in South Africa and Globally and has spoken either as a speaker, keynote speaker or panelist in over 50 conferences, summits, webinars and including speaking at Open Data Science Europe, Finnovex Middle East in Dubai, CDO Midwest Summit in Ohio, USA, the Geospatial World Forum in the Netherlands, the World AI Cannes Festival in France and LEAP24 in Saudi Aria just to name a few.

Nollie regards herself as a Futurist and Data and Analytics Evangelist, Thought Leader, EdTech Enthusiast and is also a contributing Author of the “Breaking the Glass Ceiling – Women in Leadership” book project by Professor Mazwe Majola from the University of Pretoria in South Africa published in September 2022 and The Future of Leadership book by Dr Nik Eberl to be published in May 2024.
